Bio
My name is Zoee Rasso and I’m a 20-year-old artist residing in Columbus Georgia. I'm a painter, illustrator, and animator, primarily focused in painting, and am currently studying toward my BFA in painting at Columbus State University. My painting work is focused on exploring nature and movement, often concerning the topics of environmentalism and conservation. Birds remain the primary subjects of my pieces, having continued to fascinate me with the ideas of flight and free spirit ever since childhood. Animation has also had a profound influence on my life, with animated movies such as “How to Train Your Dragon” having ignited my passion for drawing. I try to carry that love for the art of motion in a sketchy, loose, and dynamic painting style. During my time at Columbus State, I have completed three studio internships with artists Joe Sanders and Orion Wertz, have had my work displayed in several exhibitions around Columbus, and am a three-time recipient of the Friends of Art Funding Future Artist Award.
